A25: The cost of sediment traps, which are located at the same location as SWM facilities           
is incidental to Class 1 excavation for SWM facility as noted on the plan. Therefore,

Q26. Please provide details for the temp. gabion outlet structures, bid item 3065, and also for           
gabion inflow protection, bid item 3066.          
          
A26: The temporary gabion outlet structures and gabion inflow protection are standard           
E&S control and the detail is included on page E.21 and D.12 respectively in 2011           
Maryland Standards and Specifications for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control manual.          
          
Q27: Detail sheets DS-07, DS-08 and DS-09 show barrier transitions. How are these items to           
be paid ?          
How is the #57 aggregate to be paid?          
How is the 5” concrete cap to be paid?          
          
A27: The concrete barrier transition will be paid as 42 inch F Shape Concrete Median as

Q29: The Special Provisions state the Reinforced Soil Slopes will be measured and paid for for           
at the Contract unit price per vertical square foot. The vertical height will be measured           
between the elevation of reinforcement top layer and the elevation of reinforcement           
bottom layer. The horizontal distance will be measured from the edge to edge of the           
reinforced area along the centerline. There is no bid item for Reinforced Soil Slopes;           
please advise
