11/6/2017Project planning was completed in 2015. Subsequent phases will proceed as funds become available.
 
6/3/2016The Federal Highway Administration approved the Finding of No Significant Impact(FONSI) for the Selected Alternative in Sept. 2015. This action concludes the project planning process.
 
10/19/2015The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) secured Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Location Approval of SHA's "Selected Alternative on September 10, 2015, concluding the Project Planning Phase of this project.
 
4/14/2015An Informational Public Workshop has been scheduled:

6/11/2010The study team is planning and preparing for the Public Hearings anticipated in Fall 2010.
 
4/2/2010A project newsletter was mailed to residents of the study area, members of the project's mailing list, and property owners along the navigable Patuxent River watershed. A pdf copy is located in the documents section of this webpage.

9/7/2009The Study Team is currently obtaining the Agencies’ concurrences on the Alternatives Retained for Detailed Study (ARDS) package.

The Study team is also conducting detailed engineering on the ARDS as well as preparing a Newsletter to update the Public on the status of the Project Planning Study.

3/31/2008The study team is in the process of preparing for the two Alternates Public Workshops, which will be held in June 2008.
 
1/28/2008The study team has compiled the public comments received during the Open Houses held in October, 2007. The results will be displayed at the Alternatives Public Workshop which is tentatively scheduled for early Summer 2008. The study team is moving forward with its preliminary engineering on build alternatives in preparation for the Workshop.
 
11/14/2007The study team is addressing the public comments received during the Open Houses and is developing the build alternatives for the study. Additional studies will be conducted along with preliminary engineering in preparation for the Alternatives Public Workshop scheduled for the Summer 2008.
 
8/29/2007Two Informational Open House sessions were held in October (one in Calvert County and one in St. Mary's County).

These meetings enabled the public to learn more about the study and provide early input.
