11/8/2017The feasibility study completed in 2015, may be viewed by clicking on the MD 223 Corridor Planning Study from Steed Road to MD 4 link. The study provides recommendations for potential short-term, mid-term and long-term improvements along the corridor. Currently, there is no funding available to advance this project into subsequent phases. Should funding become available, the report will be used as a guide to identify segment improvement(s) along the corridor.

1/8/2015The Project Team is incorporating public input from the June workshop into the developed concepts. A final report of the study findings is scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2015.
 
6/16/2014On June 11, 2014 an Informational Public Workshop was held at Surrattsville High School from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Information presented at this meeting can be found under the ¿Documents¿ section of this site. Comments from this meeting will be incorporated into the study concepts.
 
5/28/2014A Spring newsletter was sent to the project area on May 23, 2014 announcing a public workshop to be held on June 11, 2014 at the Surrattsville High School from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Spring 2014 project newsletter can be found under the ¿Documents¿ section of this site.
 
5/5/2014The study team is conducting stakeholder interviews to help develop preliminary concepts along the corridor. The preliminary concepts will be presented to the public for their review and comment at an Informational Meeting, which is expected to occur in June 2014. Meeting information will be mailed to the project area.
 
12/5/2013A newsletter explaining the corridor planning study was sent to the project area on October 1, 2013. The newsletter contains a survey for the public to provide feedback regarding their concerns about MD 223. The newsletter can be found under the ¿Documents¿ section of this site. The study team has obtained future traffic projections and has initiated concept development for the corridor. These concepts will be presented to the public at an Informational Meeting, which is expected to occur in the Spring 2014.
 
9/30/2013The study team is finalizing future traffic projections. The future traffic projections will help the study team identify the level of traffic congestion and to develop a range of solutions. A news letter explaining the study was sent to the project area on October 1, 2013. The news letter contains a survey for the public to provide feedback along MD 223. The news letter can be found under the “Documents” section of this site. As the study team learns more about the study area, a range of concepts will be developed. and shared with the public for their comment. The study team will present the concepts to the public at an informational meeting, which is expected to occur in the Spring 2014.
