3/6/2017Plans are at 30% of development. Coordination with the M-NCPPC is continuing.

6/30/2016Coordination with Montgomery County Parks (M-NCPPC) continues to develop stream stabilization alternates that can be approved by the permitting agencies.

3/1/2016In conjunction with the bridge replacement, SHA engineers investigated alternatives to reduce the frequency of roadway over-topping due to flooding. The existing road is over-topped by the 25 year flood event. In the preferred alternative, the bridge length was increased and the roadway profile slightly raised in order to pass the 25 year flood event. Other design alternatives, which would not be overtopped by larger, less frequent storm events, required a significant increase in the roadway profile. These alternatives resulted in severe flooding of upstream improved properties, therefore these alternatives were not selected.

7/28/2015Engineering underway. Construction to begin during budget fiscal year.
