Frequently asked questions to add to website:
Q: When will the project be complete?
A: Summer of 2018

Q: How will this project effect my commute?
A: Temporary lane closures with minimal interruption, detour for southbound US 15 to Monocacy Blvd is in place.

We have US 15 south bound crossover to Monocacy Blvd. closed with a detour set up due to sight distance issues due to temporary concrete barrier wall. Also motorists may encounter night time temporary lane closures.

2/11/2016Crews are now installing waterlines and storm drains, along with continued construction of the bridge piers.

11/4/2015Constructions crews closed the median crossover at southbound US 15 to eastbound Monocacy Boulevard on November 4. Weather permitting; crews will open the crossover early 2016.

The temporary closure is necessary for motorists’ safety as SHA’s contractor will be working behind concrete barrier in the center median, obstructing drivers’ sight distance. Motorists traveling south on US 15 will be directed to the US 15/Motter Avenue Interchange to northbound US 15 to MD 26 (Liberty Road) then back to eastbound Monocacy Boulevard.

5/15/2015The contractor was issued Notice to Proceed (NTP) with construction on or before May 15, 2015. The project is now in the construction phase. For updates throughout construction, please see the updates and media tabs. If you would like to be notified by email of updates on this project, please provide your email address using the form under "Feedback" and select "Please add my/our name(s) to the Mailing List."

4/14/2015The contract for the project has been awarded to Kibler Construction Co. for the bid amount of $31,564,162.17.

1/1/2013Engineering underway. The County is providing $2.0 million to proceed with engineering. The City has also committed $2.0 million for engineering with $1.4 million being deferred to 2015. The cost shown is SHA share only.
