6/18/2019Recently completed work includes: Abutment B excavation, tremie concrete placed for Abutment B and concrete has also been placed for Abutment A's stem wall and wingwall II.

The contractor is currently working on the formwork for the pier wall and installation of the Abutment B footer. All work is being done behind a temporary concrete barrier.

6/18/2019Recently completed work includes: Abutment B excavation, tremie concrete placed for Abutment B and concrete has also been placed for Abutment A's stem wall and wingwall II.

The contractor is currently working on the formwork for the pier wall and installation of the Abutment B footer. All work is being done behind a temporary concrete barrier.
 
5/20/2019This project is approximately 23% complete and expected to finish early 2022.

Recent work includes excavation and then tremie concrete placed at abutment A and the pier. Formwork and rebar placement was installed at the abutment A footer which then had concrete placed and cured.

The contractor is currently removing the formwork from the abutment A footer. Work is also beginning on the stem wall formwork on abutment A and formwork for the pier footer. In addition, crews are placing sheet pile to complete the excavation on abutment B.

All upcoming work will be done behind a temporary concrete barrier. The only disruption to traffic will be an increase in trucks entering and leaving the site during concrete pours.
 
4/17/2019This project is 20% complete and expected to finish in early 2022.

A temporary support of excavation has been completed on the east side of northbound MD 86. Crews have begun pouring concrete for the sub-foundation.

Please be advised that the concrete pouring and excavation work will mean an increase in the number of trucks entering and exiting the work zone on MD 86 at Water Tank Road.

 
3/15/2019PROJECT UPDATES:

o Construction of Temporary Support of Excavation continues on east side of northbound MD 86 (Lineboro Road). Excavation for the new bridge is in full swing.

IMPACT TO CITIZENS:

o Citizens should anticipate increased construction traffic due to continued excavation. Citizens should be aware of trucks entering and exiting the job site on MD 86 at Water Tank Road.

 
2/19/2019PROJECT UPDATES:

Construction of Temporary Support of Excavation continues. Excavation for the new bridge has begun.

IMPACT TO CITIZENS:

Citizens should anticipate increased construction traffic now that excavation has begun. Citizens should be aware of trucks entering and exiting the job site.
 
12/17/2018• PROJECT UPDATES.

o Drilling for H-piling has been completed. Excavation for the construction of the new bridge will begin soon.

• IMPACT TO CITIZENS.

o Citizens should anticipate traffic impact through the construction zone due to decreased lane widths and increased construction activities. A noticeable increase in truck traffic will take place once excavation begins.
 
11/21/2018PROJECT UPDATES:

o Drilling for H-piling has been completed. Excavation for the construction of the new bridge will begin soon.

o Citizens should anticipate traffic impact through the construction zone due to decreased lane widths and increased construction activities. A noticeable increase in truck traffic will take place once excavation begins.


 
11/19/2018PROJECT UPDATES.

o Traffic has switched to Phase #3 Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) which places traffic over the newly completed Phase #2 Bridge and roadway.
o Support of excavation H-piles have been removed from the roadway at the phase line and this area has been paved.
o On US 15 NB, on the left shoulder at Bridge, barrier wall have been removed and replaced by traffic drums. Final surface paving will wait until next Spring.
o The bioswale between US 15 NB and MD 26 EB has been completed.

IMPACT TO CITIZENS.

o Citizens should continue to be aware of new traffic patterns on US 15 Northbound. A traffic switch to Phase #3 MOT occurred on October 11.

o On US 15 NB, left shoulder, going over Bridge, barrier wall have been removed and replaced by traffic drums.

o Citizens continue to be aware construction traffic present during the day along US 15 Northbound especially at the MD 26 ramps and on MD 26 Westbound ramp approaching US 15 Southbound. Be aware of construction equipment crossing and increased truck traffic in these areas entering and exiting from behind barrier wall. Be especially cautious when truck signs are present.

o Continue to be aware of periodic night time lane closures and temporary road closures on US 15 Northbound between Motter Avenue and Monocacy Blvd and on MD 26 Westbound ramp to US 15 South where trucks be entering and exiting from job site.
 
10/23/2018• PROJECT UPDATES:

o Temporary concrete traffic barrier was installed on east side of northbound Lineboro Road (MD 86) on Oct. 3rd and 4th ,2018. Safety drums were also placed throughout the construction site. Drilling of H- piling has begun on for the temporary Support of Excavation for the new bridge.

• IMPACT TO CITIZENS:

o Citizens should anticipate traffic impact through the construction zone due to decreased lane widths and increased construction activities.

 
9/19/2018• PROJECT UPDATES.

o Work has been begun on sediment control devices and temporary signage.

• IMPACT TO CITIZENS.

o Citizens should anticipate traffic impact through the construction zone beginning 9/21/2018. These impacts may include decreased lane widths in areas of concrete barriers.

 
8/16/2018• PROJECT UPDATES.

o Work has been completed on the moving of the utility poles.
o Anticipating contractor work to begin late August.

• IMPACT TO CITIZENS.

o Citizens should anticipate traffic impact through the construction zone beginning in late August. These impacts to include decreased lane widths.
