Status Updates

9/9/2016This project has been put on hold due to lack of funding.

6/21/2016Soil borings have been completed. The activity of getting soil samples involves drilling a hole into the soil to retrieve samples that are then taken to a lab for testing. This information is useful in understanding the underlying properties of the soil, which are needed to design certain project elements, including stormwater management facilities and retaining walls.

1/8/2016Approximately 65% design has been completed. Right of way acquisitions along the corridor needed for project construction activities will likely begin within the next few months.

10/13/2015Test pits have been completed. The activity of taking test pits involves vacuuming a hole in the ground to visually identify a specific utility and get its elevation. Test pits are used to adjust the proposed design so it avoids and minimizes impacts to utilities.

Soil borings are ongoing. The activity of getting soil samples involves drilling a hole into the soil to retrieve samples that are then taken to a lab for testing. This information is useful in understanding the underlying properties of the soil, which are needed to appropriate design certain project elements, including stormwater management facilities and retaining walls.

7/17/2015The 30% design was completed in February, 2015. Soil borings are underway to determine the characteristics of the underlying soil at specific locations. Also, crews will be out in the field verifying the type and depth of utilities at specific locations so the proposed design and avoid and minimize impacts to those utilities.

10/15/2014Concept design was completed and approved in 2007. The project was reinitiated in 2013 and 30% design is expected to be completed by January of 2015.
