11/1/2017FALL 2017 CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC ALERT- NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN AND ROUNDABOUT TO START NOVEMBER 8

Weather permitting, on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will set a new traffic pattern at the intersection of Harford Road with Glen Arm Road and Mt. Vista Road.

Crews will create a temporary roundabout, re-open the Glen Arm Road leg of the roundabout and temporarily close the Mt. Vista Road leg. Mt. Vista Road will be closed at Harford Road for approximately six weeks.

Northbound and southbound Harford Road will remain open to traffic during the third phase of work, which includes construction of the center roundabout island and medians, tree planting and landscaping.

This is the third phase of the $3.7 million project to construct a new roundabout at the Harford Road (MD 147) intersection with Glen Arm and Mt. Vista roads in Baltimore County.

Residents, commuters and commercial vehicle drivers should plan for extra travel time along Harford Road and along the Mt. Vista Road detour route in November and December 2017. Reflective barrels and signs will guide travelers through the temporary roundabout.

MDOT SHA will post signs for the following detour route for Mt. Vista Road: Harford Road to Sunshine Avenue to Belair Road to Mt. Vista Road.

Mt. Vista Road will re-open in late December 2017, weather permitting.

Final paving work on the new roundabout will be performed spring 2018.
