9/26/2017The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration has restructured the US 220 Project Planning Study in response to public concerns about property impacts and costs associated with alternatives presented at the December 9, 2015 Public Workshop. MDOT SHA has retained Alternative 1, the No Build Alternative, dropped from consideration all of the "build" alternatives presented at the 2015 Public Workshop and begun detailed study of a new concept, Alternative 2 Modified. The new alternative combines Transportation System Management (TSM) with targeted localized roadway and intersection improvements in commercial areas within Cresaptown and along MD 53 near Country Club Mall. Sidewalk and shoulder improvements also are proposed in focused areas along both corridors. A detailed description of Alternative 2 Modified is included in the July 2017 US 220 Project Planning Study Newsletter located on the "Documents" page. A map of the alternative may be viewed on the "Maps" page.

8/30/2016On Friday May 27th SHA representatives gave a presentation to the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC): The purpose of the presentation was to update the ARC on the US 220 project and obtain feedback from the commission. To view display materials, click on the documents tab.
