2/9/2017Project planning was completed in November 2010. This project is not funded for final design, right of way aquisition or construction.

1/24/2013The team has prepared the final newsletter and advertisement for the MD 295 Project Planning Study. The newsletter has been mailed to the study area and the ad announcing the completion of this project study has been placed in the appropriate newspapers. At this time, the Project Planning Process is complete.

4/26/2011The SHA Administrator has granted Design Approval on the project. The team is currently preparing a final project newsletter thereby completing the planning process.

7/21/2010The team is currently preparing the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) environmental document and a newsletter. Both documents will describe the Preferred Alternative, including impacts and proposed mitigation.

10/19/2009The Preferred Alternative and Conceptual Mitigation (PACM) was presented at the Interagency Review Meeting (IRM) on September 16, 2009. The PACM describes the Preferred Alternative, including the associated natural, cultural, and socio-economic environmental impacts, and it describes the other alternatives that were considered and dropped during the study. Further, the PACM identifies conceptual design, operational, and construction measures that will be conducted to help avoid, minimize, or compensate anticipated environmental consequences. Concurrence by the environmental agencies is expected by January 2010.

4/15/2009Alternative 7 with Hanover Road shifted to the south, has been selected as the SHA Preferred Alternative on February 11, 2009. The Project Team is currently preparing the Preferred Alternative and Conceptual Mitigation (PACM) package.

10/11/2008A Value Engineering (VE) Study was conducted August 25 to August 28, 2008. Value Engineering is a milestone activity to allow a “fresh look” at a project that is well into the planning phase. By allowing a new group with a diversity of knowledge and expertise to evaluate the project, areas for improvement such as engineering refinements, reduction of impacts and cost savings, opportunities can be suggested.

1/13/2008The team held a Team Recommendation Meeting with the Office of Planning and Preliminary Engineering Director to determine which alternative will be recommended and presented to the SHA Administrator.

10/23/2007The Project Team held a Location/Design Public Hearing on September 25, 2007 at Lindale Middle School. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to provide citizens the opportunity to comment on the alternatives and options developed for the project. Written statements and other exhibits in lieu of or in addition to an oral presentation at the Public Hearing may also be submitted to Ms. Carmeletta Harris until Tuesday October 30, 2007, in order to be included in the Public Hearing Transcript.

2/12/2007Due to consideration of additional options at the MD 170 (Aviation Blvd.) and Stoney Run Road intersection, the Project Team is now working towards holding a Location/Design Public hearing in the Fall of 2007.
