10/31/2017The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) has begun the project to provide seven travel lanes between Ridgley Ave overpass to the MD 2/MD 450 interchange. The existing median barrier will be removed and replaced to provide four travel lanes in the eastbound direction and three travel lanes in the westbound direction.

Beginning Sunday November 5, contractor Joseph B Fay Company of Glen Burnie, will begin restriping the Bridge. This restriping project will last for approximately one week, ending on Sunday November 12, weather permitting. Restriping will begin on westbound US-50, ultimately creating 11-foot travel lanes, and an additional fourth lane in the eastbound direction. Restriping will be completed overnight, resulting in overnight lane closures. Precast concrete barriers will be set up beginning November 8, in coordination with the restriping.
