TC125 - FOX RUN BOULEVARD TO MD 231 (PHASE 2)

Description:
Upgrade and widen MD 2/4 to a 6 lane divided highway from Fox Run Boulevard to Commerce Lane (0.8 miles). This project will include bicycle and pedestrian accommodations as appropriate. This is Phase 2 of a five-phase project to upgrade and widen MD 2/4
 
Scope:
This project is the second phase of planned corridor improvements along MD 2/4 through Prince Frederick in Calvert County, MD. The Phase II project limits extend from Fox Run Boulevard to MD 231 (Hallowing Point Road).

The following improvements are proposed as part of the project:

1. MD 2/4 existing roadway, which includes intermittent auxiliary lanes, is to be widened to provide three travel through lanes, bicycle lane, and a continuous auxiliary lane in each direction with a raised median.

2. Construction of new sidewalk to ensure ADA compliance.

3. New drainage design for the widened roadway.

4. Removing the U-turn movement at Steeple Chase Drive (from northbound to southbound of MD 2/4).

5. Removing the intersection of MD 2/4 at MD 765A.

6. Reconfiguring Commerce Lane to a full movement intersection.

7. Access control on southbound MD 2/4 south of MD 402 intersection.

8. Restriping and resurfacing to connect the Phase II project to the completed Phase I project.

9. Additional left turn lane from MD 402 to southbound MD 2/4.
